Georgia Rush Nike College ID Camp was a huge success!! The camp included many non GA Rush players from local clubs including Concorde Fire, Cobb FC, NASA, as well as out of state players from CESA, KY Rush, and Los Angeles Premier FC.

The format of the camp began with a technical warm-up conducted by the college coaches and then progressed to small-sided games and concluded with an 11v11 game. After the game, the players were given the opportunity for a Q&A session where they were able to ask questions regarding the different programs, recruiting rules, a college soccer experience and much much more.   Some of the college programs in attendance were UGA, Rutgers, William and Mary, University of South Florida, Georgia Southern, Virginia Commonwealth, Gwinnett, and Young Harris.

“I’d like to thank all the college coaches that attended as well as the players that participated throughout the camp. Our College ID Camp is like no other and is just a part of the standard we have set at Rush the college experience. We also have a College tour in the summer that is a four-day trip where we visit 10 colleges, meet the coaches, train at their facilities, and then play a game in South Carolina in front of all the coaches. At the ID Camp, we provided jerseys to the players that had their last names and a number on the back that correlated to a scouting brochure, which was distributed to the college coaches when they arrived. I wanted it done this way so it was easier for the coaches to identify players. Although, it was a tremendous amount of work preparing the jerseys and creating the brochures to contain the pertinent information – player name, two playing positions, GPA, graduation date, and contact information, it was all worth the effort and made for a great experience for both the player and coach.” stated Russell Finch, GA Rush Technical Director.
